BFRO
The Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization has the indisputably largest sighting report collection available online or anywhere else. They are a virtual community of interested parties spread nation-wide. They offer informative expeditions in various parts of the country on an annual basis. I have personally organized several of these expeditions in multiple states. They offer the unique opportunity to network with other squatch-geeks, and to learn squatching methods from folks who are experienced in this sort of thing.
AIBR
The Alliance of Independent Bigfoot Researchers is a loose-knit, non-profit organization designed to provide a collaborative community of independently-minded folks interested in the subject of bigfoot. They have developed protocols with which to gather data, and have an impressive staff serving as their board of directors. The AIBR is a democracy and adheres to a strict procedural guideline in regards to membership, finance, and other matters. These folks can get any data to the appropriate scientist.
Museums/collections:
Willow Creek - China Flat
Museum
This museum is located in the heart of bigfoot country, in the town of Willow Creek, CA. It is prominently featured throughout the history of bigfoot, being just a short drive from Bluff Creek. Roger Patterson himself frequented the town, visiting with long-time resident Al Hodgson soon after obtaining the famous Patterson/Gimlin Footage. The museum features historical odds and ends from Willow Creek, as well as a large sampling of original bigfoot footprint casts taken by the late Bob Titmus.
Bigfoot Discovery Museum
Located in Felton, CA (in the mountains outside of Santa Cruz, CA), Mike Rugg runs an excellent museum of bigfoot evidence and knickknacks. He features his personal collection of bigfoot items along side of footprint casts (some original ones!) and skull replicas. He publishes a monthly newsletter available to all members of the museum, as well as sponsors a monthly meeting which is open to the public. Mike also runs the nearby Bigfoot Riverside Retreat, a rental unit that features an excellent bigfoot library and life-sized models of sasquatches in the living room. The Santa Cruz Mountains are not commonly thought of as bigfoot country, but Mike continues to gather encounter and sound reports that suggest the opposite. If you visit, say hello to him for me, and ask to hear the sound recordings he has begun to collect from the area.
